Special Guest: Gordon

Hello All!

Its been a crazy few weeks!  Including a better time slot and a new beginning of the show. It was an amazing show I brought my longtime friend into the station asking him to compile a mix of what he likes.  He went with a "music that is great live" mix. It was great.  I played a few tracks relating to just how I enjoy the Style that We both have come to enjoy. This is hard to show because part of the mix was the conversation that we had.  but here is the music anyways :)  It made me want to go back home to Portland.  Where I feel accepted and loved.  Not only by the town and the music they have,  but by the people and how they care.

Here is Gordon's Mix:

Wampire- "Orchards"
Beach House- "10 Mile Stereo"
Elbow- "Grounds For Divorce"
Blonde Redhead - " everything is wrong"
Andrew Bird - " Not a Robot, But a Ghost"
Elk - "Swim for free"
St. Vincent - "Black Rainbow"
Radiohead - "Fog"
Grizzly Bear - "I Live With You"
The Beatles -  "I'm only sleeping"
The Cardigans - "Paralyzed"
Bat for Lashes - "Siren Song"
Phoenix- "armistices"

Adventure

This week Is going to be a little different...

While I try to Describe my weeks according to a mix of music of varying genres and styles. I found myself stuck this week.  This week was full of high adventure and fantasy.  Did I go on a magical quest? no of course not... But i did lose myself is stories this week.  Through the enjoyment of reading and watching.  This week was filled with an epic feeling of which there is only one song that could ever compet.  And that would be Mahler's Eighth Symphony.

While I cannot post this online due to restrictions of 8tracks. All I can do is strongly reccomend the listening of this.  After hearing it for the first time. I was motivated.  It changed me.

Enjoy the music!

Escape to Who You Are

We all get lost.  Part of the adventure of life is in the getting lost.  We lose ourselves get to involved in other things and being to forget who we used to be and what we even liked to be like that. We can enjoy the person we have become, and sometimes even decide to never go back.  let the new self become who you are.  When you look back at your old self you need to ask yourself.  do you miss it?  Do you want that again? and can you get it back?

I spent the weekend In Portland as I used to be... It took a trip home to discover how much I had changed.  and how much I missed Who I was.
If you need to Escape who you are to who you want to be,  It is best done with confidence.

Let these songs boost your soul and push you toward you person you want to be!

"3 Hours of Sleep"

"3 Hours of Sleep" will be the first mix I play over the radio.  I am truly excited for this.  But what is it about?  well let me tell you...

Then we try to sleep.

This is where this music comes into play.  When you are lying there in your bed alone or with a loved one and you just cannot turn your mind off.  It keeps on going thinking about possible outcomes what to do and how to do it.  You try to sleep but you can't. and even if you do get to sleep.  it wont last long and you will feel no more rested then the day before.  it feels like you have been asleep for hours tossing and turning you just want it to be day so you can get up and do some work but you look and what felt like 6 hours of stress and thinking; was only 5 minutes.  Let the Music Soothe you into a feeling of comfort, a feeling of security.  Let them lead you to a place that is safe, in a time where we are not.  It's time to relearn how to deal.

So why Do I Mix?
